The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Wisconsin Badgers face off on Sunday in Lincoln in a big game in the Big Ten.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have won seven of their last eight games and with a win here they can just about cement their spot in the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska is 10-7 in the Big 10, 14-1 at home this season, and 1-5 against teams ranked in the top 25. Terran Petteway leads the Cornhuskers averaging 17.8 points per game. Shavon Shields is averaging 12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds, Walter Pitchford is averaging 9.2 points, and Ray Gallegos is averaging 7.0 points. Nebraska is averaging 66.7 points and they are shooting 42.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.6 points and their opponents are shooting 41.8 percent. Nebraska has been one of the more impressive teams in the nation over the past month.

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Wisconsin Badgers Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/9/14

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

The Wisconsin Badgers have won eight games in a row and have one of the more impressive resumes in the nation with wins over Florida, Virginia, St. Louis, and Green Bay plus their Big 10 wins. Wisconsin is 12-5 in the Big Ten and 11-2 away from home this season. Frank Kaminsky is leading the Badgers averaging 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Sam Dekker is averaging 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds, Ben Brust is averaging 12.5 points, and Traevon Jackson is averaging 10.9 points. Wisconsin is averaging 73.4 points and they are shooting 45.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.8 points and their opponents are shooting 42.9 percent. Wisconsin could be as high as a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska is 10-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 games, and 19-7-1 against the spread in their last 27 home games. Wisconsin is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 1-6 against the spread in their last seven Sunday games, and 4-0 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a home winning percentage better than .600.

This one looks to be tight but the Huskers have been discounted all year and they continue to rise to the occasion so I will take them here as a home dog.
