The Virginia Tech Hokies play the Miami Hurricanes in the first round of the ACC tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

The Virginia Tech Hokies dropped to 9-21, 2-16 ACC after losing at Georgia Tech 62-51 last weekend to end their regular season. On the season, Jarell Eddie is leading the Hokies in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Devin Wilson is averaging 9 points per game along with a team-high 4.8 assists per game. The Hokies are an awful offensive team, averaging only 63.2 points per game while shooting 40.6% from the field as a team this season. The Hokies have lost sixteen out of their last eighteen games overall, and have only beaten Miami in the ACC this season. Virginia Tech is 1-8 on the road in conference play and 0-3 on neutral courts this season.

Michael Shroyer-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Hurricanes improved to 16-15, 7-11 ACC after beating Wake Forest at home 69-56 on Saturday to end the regular season. On the season, Rion Brown is averaging a team-high 15.4 points per game along with a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game. Garrius Adams is averaging 10.4 points per game and a team-high 2.9 assists per contest. The Hurricanes are shooting only 42% from the field this season while averaging 61.7 points per game as a team. The Hurricanes are a decent rebounding team, pulling down 34.6 boards per game. Miami has won four of their last six games in conference play heading into the conference tournament on Wednesday. The Hurricanes are 4-5 on the road in conference play and 1-1 on neutral courts this season.

Virginia Tech has been the worst team in the ACC this year despite having one of the best playmakers in Jarell Eddie. Miami has been playing inconsistent basketball all season but they can always rely on a solid defense to keep them in games. I think the Hurricanes are the better team and they will get the job done on Wednesday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.
