The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders face off on Wednesday in Kansas City in an opening round Big 12 Tournament game.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys made a nice run late in the season but they didn’t recover enough or quickly enough as they finished in eighth place in the Big 12 standings. OSU is 8-10 against the Big 12 and 7-8 in games played away from home. Marcus Smart leads the Cowboys averaging 17.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Markel Brown is averaging 17.2 points and 5.6 rebounds, Le’Bryan Nash is averaging 14.2 points and 5.7 rebounds, and Phil Forte is averaging 13.2 points. Oklahoma State is averaging 80.7 points and they are shooting 46.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 69.1 points and their opponents are shooting 40.4 percent. Oklahoma State has the strength of schedule and RPI to make the NCAA Tournament but a los here could hurt their chances and at the very least their seeding.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders ended the season with a big win over Texas but that ended a sox game losing steak. Texas Tech is 6-12 in the Big 12 and 3-1 in game splayed away from home this season. Jaye Crockett leads the Red Raiders averaging 13.7points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Jordan Tolbert is averaging 10.9 points and 5.9 rebounds, Robert Turner is averaging 9.5 points, and Dusty Hannahs is averaging 8.0 points. Texas Tech is averaging 68.6 points and they are shooting 45.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.1 points and their opponents are shooting 43.6 percent. Texas Tech has been competitive even in their losses.
My free pick in this one is going to be on the total and I like the track meet and the over. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
