Stanford Cardinal vs. Washington State Cougars Pac-12 Tournament Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/12/14

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington State Cougars got a win in their season finale that ended their eight game losing streak. WSU is 3-15 in the Pac-12 and 3-12 in games played away from home. DaVonte Lacy leads the Cougars averaging 19.1 points per game. D.J. Shelton is averaging 9.9 points and 9.5 rebounds, Que Johnson is averaging 9.9 points, and Royce Woolridge is averaging 7.3 points. Washington State is averaging 62.4 points and they are shooting 40.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.9 points while their opponents are shooting 44.8 percent. Washington State put forth a huge effort knocking off UCLA on Saturday and they will need more of those to make some noise here.

Stanford is 0-4 against the spread in their last four games, 13-3 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four neutral site games. Washington State is 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 neutral site games, 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-5 against the spread against the Pac-12. Stanford has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.

I like Stanford to win this one but I wouldn’t be shocked if Wazzu put up a tough fight here and I like them to cover.
