The Temple Owls and Central Florida Knights hope to extend their season in round one of the AAC playoffs.
Central Florida finished with a 4-14 conference record which was good for an 8th place tie with Temple. The numbers say UCF scored 72 points and gave up 73 but those stats are a bit deceiving. The offense was held below 70 points nine times while the defense allowed 75 points or more on 12 occasions with neither unit on the same page often enough. If the above mentioned numbers continue in to the postseason I think the Knights will need points because they will be scored on. If the offense is to come up big Isaiah Sykes will be leading the way with his 16 points and seven boards.

Lack of experience and the loss of production have absolutely killed Temple as 2013-14 was strictly a rebuilding year as witnessed by their 4-14 conference record. If you want to split hairs you can say the Owls are playing their best basketball with back to back wins to end the year which actually might be a true statement. The season in a nutshell was no defense with this unit giving up over 77 points on 47.5% shooting. Only three opponents were held below 70 points which says the offense better score in the playoffs and they should with four starters averaging over 62 points but will that be enough?
