The Cal State Northridge Matadors battle the Hawaii Warriors in a Big West first round postseason contest.
The first thing that jumps out at me with Cal State Northridge is boy can these guys score with 77 points on 45.6% shooting. The second thing that jumps out at me is boy opponents can sure score at 78 points on over 45%. We are talkiing run and gun, end to end action that might be exciting to watch but not a winning formula with the Matadores going 7-9 in the Big West to snag 5th. Not much to say except these guys get the ball and shoot it as soon as possible and they are built to score with the trio of Josh Greene, Stephen Maxwell and Stephan Hicks combining for nearly 53 points.

Hawaii is no stranger at putting the ball in the basket with a top 25 offense that averages nearly 80 points on over 47% marksmanship. The Warriors play enough defense to make it work with 73 points given up but that's hard to knock with UH winning 20 games and mustering a 4th place finish in the conference at 9-7. The Warriors have issues when the shots are not falling or they face a team that can play defense. I don't think we'll see either versus Northridge with Christian Standhardinger and Isaac Fotu creating plenty of problems with a combined 33 points and 14 rebounds with two other DD scorers as well.
I don't really care for the side to be honest and would like to see the total but it's not out. I'll take the points hoping the team with the ball last wins...
