Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Indiana Hoosiers Big Ten Tournament Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/13/14

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The Illinois Fighting Illini had an awful season but they finished strong winning four of their final five games. Illinois is 7-11 in the Big Ten and 8-7 in games played away from home. Rayvonte Rice leads the Illini averaging 15.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Tracy Abrams is averaging 10.5 points, Jon Ekey is averaging 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Joseph Bertrand is averaging 8.9 points. Illinois is averaging 64.7 points and they are shooting 40.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 62.8 points and their opponents are shooting 42 percent. Illinois’ wins came over Tournament teams like Michigan State and Nebraska.

Indiana is 7-2 against the spread following a loss, 9-20-2 against the spread in their last 31 neutral site games, and 1-4 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. Illinois is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six neutral site games. The favorite is 4-1-1 against the spread I the last six meetings of these two.

My free pick in this one is going to be on the total sand I like the under at 126.5. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as the App.
