The Alabama Crimson Tide played the second ranked schedule in the country but they didn’t have much success against it. Alabama is 7-11 in SEC games and 0-14 in games played away from home. Trevor Releford leads the Tide averaging 18.8 points per game. Retin Obasohan is averaging 9.6 points, Levi Randolph is averaging 9.5 points, and Shannon Hale is averaging 8.8 points. Alabama is averaging 68.2 points and they are shooting 44.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.2 points and their opponents are shooting 41.6 percent. Alabama’s road performance was clearly their undoing this year.
LSU is 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 neutral site games and 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games. Alabama is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 5-2-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-8-1 against the spread following a win. The favorite is 6-1-1 against the point spread in the last eight meetings of these two.
Alabama has simply done nothing away from home and it is too late for them to try and get it together here.
