The Penn State Nittany Lions were simply outmanned most of the season and they finished in 10th place in the Big Ten standings. Penn State is 6-12 in the Big Ten and 6-8 in games played away from home. D.J. Newbill is averaging 17.8 points to lead the Nittany Lions in scoring. Tim Frazier is averaging 15.5 points and 5.5 assists, Brandon Taylor is averaging 9.2 points, and Ross Travis is averaging 8.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. Penn State is averaging 72 points and they are shooting 43.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.2 points and their opponents are shooting 41.4 percent. Penn State was crushed by Minnesota by 18 points on Sunday.
Minnesota is 0-4 against the spread in their last four neutral site games, 1-5 against the spread following a win, and 2-6 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. Penn State is 6-2 against the spread against a team with a winning percentage above .600. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
This line looks fishy especially coming off of the blowout in the last game so I am going to go with Penn State though they have let me down plenty in these spots.
