The Ole Miss Rebels and the Mississippi State Bulldogs face off on Thursday in the SEC Tournament.
The Ole Miss Rebels lost six of their final eight games to watch their NCAA Tournament hopes fade. Mississippi is 9-9 in SEC games and 6-8 in games played away from home. Marshall Henderson leads the Rebels averaging 19 points per game. Jarvis Summers is averaging 16.9 points, LaDarius White is averaging 7.3 points, and Anthony Perez is averaging 7.2 points. Ole Miss is averaging 75.2 points and they are shooting 41.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 72.9 points and their opponents are shooting 42.2 percent. Ole Miss won the SEC Tourney last season and winning it back to back is their only hope of making it back to the Big Dance.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs ended the regular season with 13 losses but they never looked at them as they opened their SEC Tournament with a win over Vandy. MSU is 4-15 in the SEC and 3-11 I games played away from home. Craig Sword leads the Bulldogs averaging 13.6 points per game. Gavin Ware is averaging 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, Fred Thomas is averaging 9.1 points, and Colin Borchert is averaging 8.8 points. Mississippi Sate is averaging 67.8 points and they are shooting 44.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.1 points and their opponents are shooting 45.3 percent. Mississippi State is hoping to advance once again.
Ole Miss is 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven neutral site games, 0-3-1 against the spread following a win, and 1-3-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Mississippi State is 2-8 against the spread following a win. Mississippi State has covered the point spread in eight of the last 11 meetings of these two.
The line for this one has the Rebels as seven point favorites but I am not sure how I can lay that many with them against anyone.
