The Missouri Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies face off on Thursday in the opening round of the SEC Tournament.
The Missouri Tigers lost three of their final five games to close out the season and are going to need to go on a run to have any hope of making the NCAA Tournament. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 18.1 points, Earnest Ross is averaging 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds, and Johnathan Williams III is averaging 5.8 points and 6.4 rebounds. The Texas A&M Aggies lost three of their last four games to close out the season including a one point loss at Missouri. Texas A&M is 8-10 in the SEC and 1-11 away from home this season. Jamal Jones leads the Aggies averaging 13.4 points per game. Kourtney Roberson is averaging 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds, Alex Caruso is averaging 8.6 points, and Jordan Green is averaging 7.2 points. Texas A&M is averaging 64.6 points and they are shooting 42.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 62.5 points and their opponents are shooting 40.1 percent. Texas A&M’s road struggles were their undoing this year.
Missouri is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 12-5-1 against the spread in their last 18 neutral site games. Texas A&M is 4-1 against the spread following a loss, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, and 3-12 against the spread in their last 15 neutral site games. Texas A&M has covered the point spread in 12 of the last 16 meetings of these two.
Coaching goes a long way in tournaments and there are few worse than Missouri’s Frank Haith and look for the Aggies to exploit that and get at the very least a cover.
