The Tennessee Volunteers and the South Carolina Gamecocks face off on Friday in a SEC Tournament Quarterfinal.

The Tennessee Volunteers have won their last four games but they sit squarely on the bubble of making he field for the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee is 11-7 I the SEC and 2-1 in neutral site games. Jordan McRae leads the Volunteers in scoring averaging 18.8 points per game. Jarnell Stokes is averaging 14.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, Jeronne Maymon is averaging 10.2 points and 8.3 rebounds, and Josh Richardson is averaging 9.5 points. Tennessee is averaging 72.5 points and they are shooting 44.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 61.8 points and their opponents are shooting 41.1 percent. Tennessee got a bye in the first round of the SEC Tournament by virtue of their fourth place finish in the SEC standings.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. South Carolina Gamecocks SEC Tournament Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/14/14

Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

The South Carolina Gamecocks have won four of their last five games including their first two games in the SEC Tournament. South Carolina is 7-13 in the SEC and 4-1 in neutral site games. Brenton Williams leads the Gamecocks averaging 15 points per game. Sindarius Thornwell is averaging 13.5 points, Duane Notice is averaging 8.3 points, and Michael Carrera is averaging 6.1 points and 5.6 rebounds. South Carolina is averaging 69.1 points and they are shooting 41.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.2 points and their opponents are shooting 43.4 percent. South Carolina is building their confidence for next season.

Tennessee is 10-3-1 against the spread following a win by 20 points or more, 20-9 against the spread against the SEC, and 17-5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 neutral site games, and 7-1-1 against the spread following a win. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.

My free pick in this one is going to be on the total sand look for plenty of banging and a low scoring game so I will take the under. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as the App.
