The Golden Gophers are a balanced Big Ten team that just couldn’t play with any consistency. Offensively, Minnesota averages 70.9 points on 44.8 percent shooting. The Gophers shoot 74 percent from the free throw line and are led by junior guard Andre Hollins, who averages 14.2 points and 3.5 rebounds. The Panthers are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Golden Gophers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games.
Minnesota is a very streaky team, and you’re never quite sure which team is going to show up. That’s why I have to take High Point and the points. Sure, the Panthers aren’t nearly as talented as the Golden Gophers and will likely lose fairly easily. However, 18 points is a lot to lay for a Minnesota team that has lost four of its last seven games and can get careless with the basketball.
I’ll take all of the points I can get.
