Arizona Wildcats vs. Weber State Wildcats NCAA Tournament Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/21/14Mitch's Free College Basketball Pick Against the Spread
Arizona and Weber State face off on Friday in the NCAA Tournament.
The Arizona Wildcats and the Weber State Wildcats face off on Friday in San Diego in first round action in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
The Arizona Wildcats won the Pac-12 and despite losing in the Pac-12 Tournament final they still are the number one seed in the West in March Madness. Arizona is 13-0 in non-conference games and 4-1 in neutral site games this season. Nick Johnson leads the Wildcats averaging 16.2 points per game. Aaron Gordon is averaging 12.1 points and 7.8 rebounds, Kaleb Tarvzewski is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is averaging 8.6 points and 5.8 rebounds. Arizona is averaging 73.1 points and they are shooting 46.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 58.1 points and their opponents are shooting 38.1 percent. Arizona is 3-0 against ranked teams and they are thinking a trip to the Final Four at the very least.
The Weber State Wildcats won the Big Sky Conference regular season title and the conference tournament to earn their spot in this game. Weber State is 3-5 in non-conference games and 1-0 in games played at a neutral site. Davion Berry is averaging 19.1 points per game to lead the Wildcats in scoring. Kyle Tresnak is averaging 11.8 points, Jeremy Senglin is averaging 11.2 points, and Joel Bolomboy is averaging 8.6 points and 10.8 rebounds. Weber State is averaging 73.2 points and they are shooting 48.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.4 points and their opponents are shooting 42.4 percent. Weber State played the 271st ranked schedule in the nation this year.
Weber State hasn’t had trouble scoring but they haven’t faced anything like they will see here so it will be interesting to see how their offense translates at this level. Arizona has players that can score when called upon but generally it is the defense setting up the offense.
I don’t see the total going too high in this one and even with the total set aggressively low I like the under.
My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and that pick will be available in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
