The Kentucky Wildcats and the Kansas State Wildcats face off on Friday in St. Louis in a first round Midwest Regional game of the NCAA Tournament.
The Kentucky Wildcats started the season as the number one ranked team in the nation and they start their 2014 NCAA Tournament as an eight seed. UK is 10-4 in out of conference games and 3-3 in neutral site games. Julius Randle leads the Cats averaging 15 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. James Young is averaging 14.5 points per game, Aaron Harrison is averaging 13.8 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 10.8 points. Kentucky is averaging 75.9 points and they are shooting 45.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.6 points and their opponents are shooting 40.3 percent. Kentucky played their best basketball in a month in the SEC Tournament this past weekend.

The Kansas State Wildcats are one of seven Big 12 teams to make the NCAA Tournament field but they finished the season with three consecutive losses. KSU is 10-3 in non-conference games and 3-3 in games played at a neutral site. Marcus Foster leads the Wildcats averaging 15.6 points per game. Thomas Gipson is averaging 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds, Shane Southwell is averaging 9.8 points, and Will Spradling is averaging 7.8 points. Kansas State is averaging 69.7 points and they are shooting 43.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.7 points and their opponents are shooting 40.8 percent. Kansas State is 3-4 against teams ranked in the top 25.
Kentucky is 4-1 against the spread in their last five neutral site games and 4-1 against the spread in their last five NCAA Tournament games. Kansas State is 4-1 against the spread against the SEC, 1-4 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
At 133 I like the over in this one as I see plenty of scoring.
