Texas A&M Corpus Christi head to the Spanos Center to face Pacific in round two CIT action.
All signs pointed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi having some problems on the road at Northern Colorado but it was the Bears who struggled in an 82-71 decision. The normally reserved Islanders scoring exploded on nearly 54% shooting and needed it with UNC sinking half their looks. The Islanders simply made a few more shots, threes and field goals for a comfortable margin. Rashawn Thomas led all scorers with 22 points on 9-11 shooting with Jonathan Jordan adding 16 points, six yanks and six assists. Jeff Beverly and Jake Kocher each dropped 12 points Hameed Ali chipping in with ten.

Pacific trailed upstart Grand Canyon vitually their entire first round CIT contest before slowly chipping away at a ten point half time deficit to come away with a 69-67 win. The score first Tigers have generally had issues at the defensive end and did so once again but got enough stops in the second half with the offense finding the groove as well. At the final buzzer the Tigers were a bit deeper and more balanced with the entire nine man rotation finding the scoring column. Andrew Bock led the attack with 18 points followed by the duo of Tony Gill and Sama Taku with 15 points apiece with Gill grabbing seven boards.
Even though Pacific is at home I believe the spread is a bit large because I think the Islanders can score on the Tigers defense enough to at least cover. I will update by game day as I dig deeper...
