The Pittsburgh Panthers play the Florida Gators on Saturday in the 3rd round of the NCAA tournament.
The Pittsburgh Panthers destroyed the Colorado Buffaloes 77-48 in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. On the season, Lamar Patterson, who in my opinion is one of the best players in the ACC, if not the country this season, leads the Panthers. Patterson averages a team-high 17.6 points and 4.3 assists per game this season. Talib Zanna is averaging a second-best 12.9 points per game while averaging a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game. Both Zanna and Patterson played great in the opening game of the tournament. The Panthers average a solid 72.5 points per game while shooting 46.1% from the field as a team this season. Pittsburgh is one of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, averaging 36.1 boards per game. Pittsburgh has won five of their last six games after losing three straight games in February. The Panthers finished an impressive 7-2 on the road in conference play and now 6-2 on neutral courts this season.

The Florida Gators beat Albany in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament 67-55 on Thursday. The Gators won the SEC Championship and are playing at a high level right now. Casey Prather leads Florida with 14.2 points per game, while Scottie Wilbekin averages 13 points and a team high 3.8 assists per contest. Wilbekin is the leader of a talent group of players and he should be considered the most valuable player in the country. Florida has a suffocating defense that is ranked 3rd in the country in points allowed at 57.9. The Gators are averaging 71 points per game while shooting 46.3% from the field. Florida has won 28 games in a row, but they didn’t play great in the opening round. The Gators will need and I expect them to play much better on Saturday.
Pittsburgh is playing great right now as their defense has stepped up and they are rebounding the ball well. Florida is the best team in the country in my opinion and I think they will bring it in this one after an average performance in round two. Florida wins by at least 8 on Saturday.
