The Arizona Wildcats take the hardwood with the Gonzaga Bulldogs in a Field of 32 match up Sunday.
On the surface Gonzaga is the same team we have come to know over the years with the ability to score and defend although they seemed to have taken a step back in 2013-14 and the West Coast didn't seem as strong. That is why they were dogs to Oklahoma State but if you watched the game it was obvious the wrong team was favored. The Bulldogs came away with an 85-77 decision behind 50% shooting including 9-18 from distance while the Cowboys were held to 40% accuracy and 3-15 on threes. Kevin Pangos led all scorers with 26 points with Gary Bell Jr. and Przemek Karnowski adding 17 and 15 with the latter snagging ten boards while Kyle Dranginis netted 12.

I am not real happy about the way Arizona finished their opening round match up with Weber State. Up 20 and a very average Big Sky champ dominates the final ten minutes to lose 68-59? That effort won't cut it going forward and the numbers say this should have been a 20+ point victory. Zona connected at 55% from the field with Weber countering with 30% and owned the foul line 20-9 which should have favored the number one seed in my view. Nick Johnson paced the offense with 18 points on 4-6 from down town with Aaron Gordon next in line with 16 points and eight boards followed by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Kaleb Tarczewski with 13 and ten points.
Having complained about Arizona they will probably destroy Gonzaga but I cant get their last ten minutes against Weber State out of my head. I probably won't touch this but I'll go with the points...
