The Save Mart Center and the Fresno State Bulldogs host the Princeton Tigers in second round CBI action.
Princeton headed in to their CBI opener as a nine point favorite at Tulane and barely escaped with a 56-55 victory. Great effort from Tulane? Bad effort from Princeton? I'd say a combination of both as the Green Wave muddied the water so to speak and the Tigers went swimming. Both teams shot the ball in the 42%-43% range with Princeton sinking one more basket. Hans Brase led the scoring with 16 points followed by TJ Bray with 12 points and nine helpers while Clay Wilson tossed in eleven and Will Barrett seven.

A 6-3 finish to the season was probably what got Fresno State in to the CBI and they proved they belonged with a 61-56 decision at Texas El Paso which was a solid performance. The pace was slower then the Bulldogs prefer but for this team to win a low scoring, grind it out type affair is not something we see every day. FSU won the shooting battle 40.7%-35% and sank five more bombs to help offset the Miners 17-9 advantage at the charity stripe. Leading scorer Cezar Guerrero pumped in a game high 19 points, grabbed ten rebounds and posted five assists with Marvelle Harris dropping in 14 while Paul Watson and Tyler Johnson combined for 16 points.
Princeton won 21 games are not a typical 20 game winner as their schedule helped out quite a bit. I'll take the points but honestly question the quality of the Tigers...
