The UCLA Bruins match up with the Florida Gators in a Sweet 16 bout on Thursday night.
UCLA has done what higher seeds are supposed to do in the first two rounds of the NCAA's and that is to win easily. A pair of 17 point victories is about as easy as it gets with the Bruins hammering Stephen F. Austin 77-60 on Sunday behind dominant play at both ends of the floor. The Bruins connected at a blistering 54.7% pace with the Lumberjacks limited to 35% and that was a nine field goal difference. Jordan Adams led the scoring with 19 points and five yanks with Norman Powell and Kyle Anderson tossing in 16 and 15 points with the latter grabbing eight boards and posting five helpers.

Florida hasn't really been challenged thus far with a 67-55 win over Albany in the opener with the Great Danes managing to slow things down enough to make the scoreboard respectable. Pitt wasn't as fortunate as the game was slow but they couldn't make shots in a 61-45 decision. The Gators didn't set the world on fire with their 43% shooting but that number was golden with the Panthers limited to 37%. This was only a five point UF lead at the half but the Panthers never made any type of run. Scottie Wilbekin pumped in a game high 21 points followed by Michael Frazier II with ten while Casey Prather and Will Yeguete added eight points each and combined for ten pulls.
This comes down to whether UCLA can generate consistent scoring from the perimeter and in the paint. From what I have seen the Bruins are dangerous from the outside but UF is more capable of pounding the rock inside which is the difference to me. I'll look at this further and update by game day...
