A trip to the Final Four awaits the winner between the #8 Kentucky Wildcats and #2 Michigan Wolverines.
I thought Kentucky's match up with Wichita State would be tough to duplicate but their 74-69 defeat of rival Louisville might have been better in my view. Several times the Wildcats looked dead in the water but each time they picked themselves off the mat and in the end the more veteran club of the Cardinals had no answer. UL shot the ball better 49%-43.6% but neither team hit the long ball but Kentucky was clutch at the line going 22-27 with Louisville struggling to a 13-23 mark which was a difference maker. Dakari Johnson, Julius Randle and Aaron Harrison each scored 15 points with Randle snagging 12 boards followed by Andrew Harrison and James Young with 14 and nine points.

Michigan had no problem in knocking off Wofford and Texas in reaching the Sweet 16 but the question against Tennessee was could their perimeter attack overcome the Vols inside game. The answer was yes for a half with the Wolverines ahead by eleven heading in to the locker room but oddly the Volunteers were shooting threes and that wasn't their game. The second half we saw more inside play from this group and they closed the gap to 73-71 in a game they could have easily won. Michigan fired away at 55% including 11-20 from distance with the Vols connecting at 52.6% with ten more looks. Jordan Morgan led four DD scorers with 15 points followed by Nik Stauskas with 14 while Glenn Robinson III and Caris LeVert added 13 and ten points.
I think Michigan is tough to handle if the shots are falling while Kentucky is playing like seasoned veterans. I'm on the fence here and will back the points and dig futher in to it...
