Before the NCAA Final Four on Saturday, the Fresno State Bulldogs and Siena Saints will meet in the final game of the CBI championship. Siena won the first game 61-57, and Fresno State won the second game 89-75.
Fresno State is a team that really put things together in the second half of the season, winning 13 of its last 17 games. On the season, Fresno State averages 71.5 points on 43.4 percent shooting and allows 71.3 points on 43.6 percent shooting. The Bulldogs don’t have anything they do extremely well other than the fact they shoot 73.1 percent from the free throw line. Fresno State has four players averaging in the double figures, but Tyler Johnson leads the Bulldogs with 15.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Fresno State Bulldogs are 20-15-1 ATS overall.
Siena has also been quite hot over the last month or so, winning eight of its last 10 games. On the season, Siena averages 69 points on 41.9 percent shooting and allows 70.1 points on 41.7 percent shooting. Siena is a team that wants to slow things down, play in the low 60s and control he glass. Siena averages 37.8 rebounds per game. As for offense, Rob Poole leads the Saints with 14.4 points per game, as he shoots 36.1 percent from three. The Siena Saints are 20-15 ATS overall.
The Bulldogs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS win and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Saints are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
I like the rebounding advantage Siena has over Fresno State in this matchup, and I also like the fact the Saints are playing at home. I expect Siena to control the tempo and win a close game similar to what the Saints did in game 1.
Take Siena to put a little extra money in your pocket before the Final Four games come on.
