The 2 seeded Wisconsin Badgers face off against the 8 seed Kentucky Wildcats in final four action at 8:47PM Saturday night.
Wisconsin wrapped up the west region with an exciting, overtime victory over the top seeded Arizona Wildcats 64-63 Saturday night. The Badgers were relentless in this contest, erasing a double digit lead early to pull it close at the half and then trade baskets with Arizona down the stretch. After some clutch free throws late in the OT, Wisconsin buckled up on defense and forced a Nick Johnson jumper at the buzzer wide to seal the win. The Badgers were once again led by the dominant play of big man Frank Kaminsky -- Kaminsky remains arguably the toughest matchup left in the tournament with his inside out capabilities and 7 foot height. Kaminsky finished with 28 and 11 and guard Traevon Jackson added 11 points and 6 assists. The Badgers will need to be patient on offense and move the ball around the perimeter efficiently if they want to make an appearance Monday night.

The young Kentucky Wildcats emerged from the midwest region this past weekend after an exciting OT win over the Michigan Wolverines. Kentucky got a three ball from guard Aaron Harrison late in the contest that sealed the 75-72 victory. Harrison finished with just 12 points for the game, but all 12 came in the final minutes and OT, where he knocked down 4 straight clutch threes to help lead the Wildcats to the win. Marcus Lee was big off the bench with 10 points in place of big man Willy Cauley-Stein, who will miss this contest against Wisconsin as well with an ankle injury. Julius Randle added his usual double double with 16 and 11 and will create a very difficult matchup for a Badger front line that features little size and physicality.
I expect this contest to come down to the wire as well as both of these teams are playing their best basketball currently. I like the skill and overall experience of the Badgers and the finesse of Frank Kaminsky will be the ultimate difference as he outduels Randle down low and helps the Badgers pull away late for the cover and a berth in Monday night’s title game.
