The Bowling Green Falcons go on the road to open the season with the Drake Bulldogs Saturday.
The Bowling Green Falcons have a new head coach and hopefully a better shot at moving up the rankings in the MAC East. Louis Orr is out and former Wichita State assistant Chris Jans takes over as the head man. The team is hoping his winning attitude is contagious and he does have a few pieces to work with beginning with Richaun Holmes who brings 13 points and almost eight boards in to the year and is often found guarding the opposition's best offensive player. Spencer Parker, Jehvon Clarke and Anthony Henderson bring back double digit scoring so Bowling Green has expectations of making some noise in the conference along with a winning record.

The Drake Bulldogs enjoyed a solid four game improvement in the win column last season and expect to see even more improvement this year although most experts don't share the enthusiasm as the Bulldogs are picked to finish near the bottom of the Missouri Valley. Second year head coach Ray Giacoletti is hoping Karl Madison and Gary Ricks Jr. return from injury and remain healthy with Ricks showing some great long range shooting. Jordan Daniels also averages double figures and sink the perimeter shot but there is some bad news with Richard Carter and Aaron Hawley departing and taking 16 points and ten points respectively with them which is an issue for a team that will need to score to compete.
Drake are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Sat. games while the over is 21-6 in Bulldogs last 27 home games. I believe Bowling Green made a good hire in Chris Jans and he does have some quality talent to work with although we really don't know how this team fits in to the MAC. Drake has talent back but they also lost their best player so on paper I think Bowling Green is better to begin the season on paper so I'll take the generous points...
