The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks look to even their record with a win at the Toledo Rockets.
Toledo won 27 games and were tied for the best record in the MAC and many believe the Rockets have what it takes to win the MAC West. This team has plenty of returning talent from a team that averaged nearly 80 points which is an achieveable number once again. The team is led by All MAC guard Julius Brown who averaged 15 points along with swingman Justin Drummond and his 14 points who can play several positions and Toledo has a nice backcourt. Nathan Boothe and JD Witherspoon are a solid duo in the paint with 19 points and eleven rebounds and will get a boost when Mississippi State transfer Dre Applewhite becomes eligible.

The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks opened their season with a Xavier club that appeared to be in midseason form and ther result was 93-60 defeat as the Musketeers opened a 26 point lead at the break and were never challenged as they blistered the nets with 66.7% shooting while limiting the Lumberjacks to just 38% which negated NAU's nine more shot attempts. The Musketeers better shooting was about the only difference in the boxscore although it was a massive one with Xavier placing four players in the double digit scoring column and NAU with two. Quinton Upshur was the big gun for the Lumberjacks with a team high 20 points on 8-15 shooting including four bombs with Ako Kaluna tossing in ten but Northern Arizona could not slow the nearly 67% shooting Musketeers.
For Northern Arizona the Lumberjacks are 10-3-2 ATS in their last 15 Sun. games and the under is 51-20 in NAU last 71 non-conference games. For Toledo the over is 7-1 in TOL last 8 home games while going 13-3 in TOL last 16 Sun. games and is 12-5 in TOL last 17 overall. Northern Arizona has to control the scoreboard because they do not want to run and gun with the Rockets who are built to run the floor. Of course Toledo would like nothing better then to push the score as high as possible. I'm going with the potential of a very good Toledo squad...
