The St Joseph's Hawks go on the road to face the Drexel Dragons with both teams looking to get in the win column.
Losing your first game of the season normally doesn't mean a whole lot but when I saw the St Joseph's Hawks fall to Fairleigh Dickinson 58-57 I was shocked. It was an odd boxscore in that both teams sank shots in the 40% range with neither sinking free throws or perimeter shots. While the Hawks were dominant on the backboards with a 43-25 advantage that edge was negated with sloppy ball protection that produced 16 turnovers. Isaiah Miles and Chris Wilson both pumped in 12 points with 14 and six rebounds respectively but I expescted to see at least a few more double digit scorers. Aaron Brown and DeAndre Bembry combined for 17 points but the Hawks simply struggled to findthe shooting touch.

The Drexel Dragons hope to find some better shooting then we saw in their opening day 65-48 defeat at Colorado as a 15 point underdog. Despite playing a decent defensive game with Colorado hitting shots at 42% the Dragons still fell short in most areas. The Dragons or any other team will find winning difficult with just 29% shooting and a minus 13 on the glass. The Buffaloes were solid at the foul line as well with 71% accuracy and a 17-9 edge there. Tavon Allen paced the Dragons attack with 16 points but was only 5-17 from the floor with Damion Lee adding 12 points but a 7-29 performance on three pointers was an obvious killer as Drexel kept shooting them to the point of stubbon refusal to try something different.
The over is 7-3 in JOES last 10 road games and for Drexel the under is 9-2 in DREX last 11 Mon. games. Drexel losing at Colorado wasn't a surprise but they completely fell apart in the second half and obviously nee to play a full 40 minutes. St Joseph's probably wins if they could have held on to the ball versus Fairleigh Dickinson but this was not a very good loss and it wouldn't have been a great win at under double figures. Tough one to figure so I'll take the points for now...
