The Oregon Ducks and the Detroit Titans face off on Monday Night in college basketball action.
The Oregon Ducks were a NCAA Tournament team last season who at points in the season looked like the best team in the nation and at other times couldn’t get it together. Oregon opened their season against Coppin State and once again the Ducks have no shortage of options when it comes to scoring points. Joseph Young is back for Oregon and he opened the season by scoring 32 points, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out eight assists to lead the Ducks. Elgin Cook had 15 points and four rebounds, Dillon Brooks had 14 points and six rebounds, and Casey Benson had 13 points. Oregon shot a dazzling 56.2 percent from the floor and 60.9 percent from beyond the three-point line. While Coppin State didn’t provide a high level of competition Oregon can clearly get the ball through the hoop.

The Detroit Titans also opened their season with a win blowing out Division II Rochester College but now they get a chance to go on the road and make a statement for the Horizon League. Detroit had a chance to clear the bench against Rochester but the starters also got valuable minutes of real game action. Anton Wilson led the scoring for Detroit with 20 points and grabbing four rebounds. Juwan Howard Jr. had 16 points and five rebounds and Paris Bass had 13 points and five rebounds. Detroit shot 53.7 percent from the floor but just 61.9 percent from the free throw line a number they will need to improve on if they want to stay in this game.
Oregon is 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games, and 18-7-3 against the spread following a win. Detroit is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games, 4-1 against the spread following a win, and 7-18-1 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points.
The total here is set at 151 and I like this one to go over that number.
