The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and Missouri Tigers square off Wednesday at the Mizzou Arena.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles won their season opener against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 77-68. Oral Roberts shot 39.6 percent from the field and had 10 assists on 19 made baskets, while the defense held the Golden Hurricane to 33.9 percent shooting and forced 12 turnovers. Obi Emegano led the way with 26 points on 16 free throw attempts and Korey Billbury had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bobby Word scored 14 points and Denell Henderson grabbed seven rebounds in 20 minutes of work off the bench. After rejoining the Summit, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have enough pieces in place to compete at a high level and Korey Billbury is possibly one of the more underrated players in the entire country. This is a measuring stick game for Oral Roberts.
USA TODAY Sports
The Missouri Tigers split their first two games with a win over Valparaiso and loss to UMKC. On the season, Missouri is averaging 58.5 points on 38.9 percent shooting and is allowing 55 points on 35 percent shooting. Montaque Gill-Caesar leads the way with 15 points and six rebounds, while Wes Clark is averaging 14.5 points and four steals. Clark looks like he’s going to have to carry the team this season in hopes of any success. The Missouri Tigers are a team that’s rebuilding with a new head coach in Kim Anderson and a bunch of new players being asked to expand their role. Missouri isn’t expected to do much in the SEC this season but has a couple of talented players who are capable of winning a few games some didn’t expect.
The Golden Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win. The Tigers are 7-19-2 ATS in their last 28 games following a S.U. win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles are an experienced team that has more than one or two guys who can lead the charge. While the Missouri Tigers are at home, they're still trying to find themselves and are in rebuilding mode. Give me the Golden Eagles and the bundle of points.
