The Fordham Rams and Maryland Terrapins meet Thursday night at the Comcast Center.
The Fordham Rams split their first two games with a win over NY Institute of Technology and a loss to Penn State. On the season, Fordham is averaging 74 points on 38.6 percent shooting and is allowing 75 points on 49.1 percent shooting. The defensive struggles for the Fordham Rams continue, as they were one of the worst defensive teams in the league last season and it’s why they finished with just two wins in conference play. Offensively, Nemanja Zarkovic is averaging 14 points on 33.3 percent shooting and Christian Sengfelder is averaging 10 points and eight rebounds. Jon Severe, the Rams offensive go-to guy, was just 0-5 from the field with three turnovers in the loss to Penn State. While it’s still early and things could change, this looks like it’ll be another long year for Fordham.

The Maryland Terrapins are off to a quick 2-0 start with wins over Wagner and Central Connecticut State. On the season, Maryland is averaging 87.5 points on 55.1 percent shooting and is allowing 52.5 points on 31.1 percent shooting. Dez Wells remains the top player for Maryland, as he’s scoring 22.5 points on 65.4 percent shooting. Freshman Melo Trimble has gotten off to a great start with 11.5 points and five rebounds, while Jake Layman has helped the Terrapins out anyway he can with 15 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Freshman Michal Cekovsky has also played well, as he has five blocks. This is a big season for the Maryland Terrapins, as it’s their first year since leaving the ACC. It’s important Maryland continues to play well and competes at a high level in the Big Ten.
The Rams are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Terrapins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
While I hate laying this much chalk, the Fordham Rams are awful defensively that it's hard to trust even with this many points. Don't love the line, but Maryland should win this game easily and likely cover the big number.
