The Detroit Titans and Michigan Wolverines meet Thursday at the Crisler Center.
The Detroit Titans split their first two games with a win over Rochester College and a loss to Oregon. On the season, Detroit is averaging 71.5 points on 43.8 percent shooting and is allowing 68.5 points on 42.5 percent shooting. Anton Wilson leads Detroit with 17 points on 66.7 percent shooting and Juwan Howard Jr. is averaging 16 points and five rebounds. Howard Jr. is one of the better players in the Horizon League and will carry Detroit as far as this team can go. Michigan State transfer Paris Bass has gotten off to a great start with 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The Detroit Titans have been one of those teams that was a player or two away from really hitting its peak. And while not a favorite in the Horizon, Detroit is a scrappy team that is capable of competing at the highest level.

The Michigan Wolverines are off to a fast 2-0 start with victories over Hillsdale and Bucknell. On the season, Michigan is averaging 84.5 points on 48.8 percent shooting and is allowing 60.5 points on 43.4 percent shooting. Zak Irvin leads Michigan with 22 points on 64 percent shooting and Derrick Walton Jr. is averaging 18.5 points and six rebounds. Caris LeVert is now the glue of this Michigan team, and he’s doing a little bit of everything with an average of 13 points, seven rebounds and 7.5 assists. Despite losing a lot of talent during the offseason, the Michigan Wolverines remain one of the top teams in the Big Ten and will continue to shoot the ball a ton from deep, keeping defenses on its heels. Ricky Doyle is probable for this game despite an ankle injury.
The Titans are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Wolverines are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. Horizon League.
The Detroit Titans are no pushover and this is going to be a monster game as far as bragging rights are concerned. I see the Titans showing up in a big way and keeping this game a lot closer than expected. Give me Detroit and the free points.
