The Georgia State Panthers and the Colorado State Rams take the hardwood at Moby Arena in Friday action.
Georgia State is cosidered by many to be the best team in the Sun Belt and are accustomed to delivering a few smackdowns. However they were on the wrong end of an 81-58 rout at the hands of Iowa State on Monday. Nothing went favorably for the Panthers as the Cyclones were dominant at both ends of the floor. GSU struggled to make shots at 39% with Iowa State hitting shots at over 48% but the real key was the Panthers made justfive trips to the foul line and were outscored 15-3 at the stripe. RJ Hunter led all scorers with 21 points on 8-20 from the floor with Ryan Harrow tossing in 12 points with five dishes and five turnovers. Marcus Crider rounded out the top contributors with ten months and eight rebounds but production outside of the top three was sporadic.

The Colorado State Rams have visions of winning the Mountain West which we'll have to wait and see. However the Rams got the season started on the right foot with an easy 83-66 rout of visiting Montana although the Grizzlies are not the Big Sky power they have been over the past several seasons. The Rams did exactly what they were supposed to do against inferior competition and that is to jump on them early and never let them believe they have a chance. That planned worked to perfection with Colorado State jumping to a 31 point lead heading in to the break to essentially put this in the win column. The Grizzlies were held to 40% from the field while hitting at 52% with 12 threes. Stanton Kidd led five DD scorers with 19 points with Daniel Bejarano tossing in 15. Gian Clavell contributed 13 points while John Gillon and JJ Avila combined for 21 points.
The under is 8-3 in GSU last 11 road games and is 20-8 in GSU last 28 non-conference games while Georgia State are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games. For Colorado State the Rams are 5-15-2 ATS in their last 22 home games and are 9-25-2 ATS in their last 36 games overall while the under is 7-3 in CSU last 10 home games. Georgia State was king of the hill in the Sun Belt and are expected to be the team to beat once again while Colorado State is picked in the middle of the Mountain West. I'm willing to take a chance with the points...
