The Troy Trojans and Georgia Bulldogs play Friday night at the Stegeman Coliseum.
The Troy Trojans split their first two games with a win over Brewton Parker and a loss to Ole Miss. On the season, Troy is averaging 62 points on 32.1 percent shooting and allowing 74 points on 50 percent shooting. Wesley Person Jr. leads Troy with 18.5 points on 33.3 percent shooting from deep, and Kevin Thomas is scoring 12.5 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Chris Bilbo and Musa Abdul-Aleem are also scoring in the double digits, while John Walton III has been a spark on both ends in his first season with Troy. The Troy Trojans are a new but experienced team with many transfers teaming up together this season. Troy is expected to be a middle of the road Sun Belt team but could be slightly better than that if the offense continues to show promise.

The Georgia Bulldogs have split their first two games of the season with a win over Stony Brook and a loss to Georgia Tech. On the season, Georgia is averaging 76.5 points on 43.1 percent shooting and is allowing 75 points on 38 percent shooting. Nemanja Djurisic leads Georgia with 14.5 points on 40 percent shooting and Charles Mann is averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Kenny Gaines and Marcus Thornton are both averaging double-digit points and Juwan Parker is playing well in an expanded role. The Georgia Bulldogs were a surprise last season in conference play and have a lot of the same players to where they can give the entire SEC a run for its money. However, Georgia will have to improve its defense if that’s going to happen.
The Trojans are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games and 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 Friday games. The Bulldogs are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
I hate laying this much chalk, especially this early in the season, but the Georgia Bulldogs are a above-average basketball team while Troy is a below average team in the Sun Belt. Georgia will be fired up playing at home and should crush the Trojans in the process. There are better bets on the board but back Georgia if wanting to wager this game.
