The Drake Bulldogs look for victory number one when they visit the Western Michigan Broncos.
The Drake Bulldogs have struggled to score and defend through two games thus far and when that happens it doesn't bode well for the win column. It hasn't as the Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 following an 80-62 loss at DePaul on Tuesday. The Blue Demons took control early with a 13 point lead at the break and they were never challenged with 55% shooting too much for Drake's 42.6% including five more long balls and several more free throws. The Bulldogs didn't have enough offensive options with Chris Caird and Jordan Daniels tossing in 19 and 17 points respectively with no other player scoring more then six points while the Blue Demons had five double digit scorers.

If the first two games of the season are any indication then the Western Michigan Broncos will be lighting up the scoreboards this season. In a 2-0 start to the year the Broncos broke the 80 point barrier for the second time in an 82-71 victory at Oakland as a two point underdog. WMU led by six at the break and held serve the rest of the way behind 57% from the field including a 9-18 effort from the perimeter which was plenty good enough to overcome the Grizzlies 43.6%. The Western Michigan attack produced four DD scorers with Connar Tava pouring in 21 points while grabbing ten boards and posting five helpers. Tucker Haymond was next in line with 19 points and six yanks while Kellen McCormick and Austin Richie contributed 14 and ten points respectively.
Drake are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 Sat. games and the under is 10-3 in DRKE last 13 road games. For Western Michigan they are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 Sat. games while the over is 27-11-2 in WMU last 40 Sat. games and is 17-7-1 in WMU last 25 home games. My thought process goes back to Western Michigan being a challenger in the MAC and a real threat to win the title. I think Drake will have some trouble keeping up on the scoreboard so I'll back the more explosive offensive squad...
