The Boston College Eagles and the Dayton Flyers face off on Sunday in Puerto Rico in college basketball tournament action.
The Boston College Eagles opened up their tournament in Puerto Rico with a win over New Mexico and then lost West Virginia in the second round despite playing well. Boston College is averaging 63.8 points and they are shooting 42.7 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64 points and their opponents are shooting 41.3 percent. Olivier Hanaln leads BC averaging 19.5 points per game, Aaron Brown is averaging 14.8 points, and Patrick Heckman is averaging 8.8 points. Boston College looks to be much more competitive than we have seen in recent years.

The Dayton Flyers opened their tournament in Puerto Rico by beating Texas &M but they fell short on Friday losing to UConn. Dayton is looking to feed off last year’s momentum and carry it forward into this year. UD is averaging 65 points and they are shooting 41.1 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 60 points and their opponents are shooting 37.8 percent. Dyshawn Pierre leads Dayton averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds, Jordan Sibert is averaging 2 points, and Kendall Pollard is averaging 10 points. I don’t see Dayton laying down for anyone this season.
Boston College is 2-5-1 against the spread following a loss, 2-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. Dayton is 5-1 against the spread in heir last six games, 5-1 against the spread against the ACC, and 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread.
To be honest I am not sure who wins this one but I see it being closer than the spread so I will take the points with the dog.
