The Kansas State Wildcats and the Purdue Boilermakers face off on Monday afternoon in the Maui Invitational college basketball tournament.
The Kansas State Wildcats are 2-1 this season but are coming off of an upset loss to Long Beach State. Kansas State projects to play the 82nd ranked schedule in the country and Bruce Weber’s team will need to improve by the time they get to their Big 12 schedule. Kansas Sate is averaging 80.3 points per game shooting 48.4 percent from the floor while allowing 70 points and their opponents shoot 43.9 percent. Thomas Gipson is averaging 17 points per game and 6.7 rebounds to lead the Wildcats. Nino Williams is averaging 12 points and 5.0 rebounds, Marcus Foster is averaging 11.3 points, and Nigel Johnson is averaging 10.7 points. Kansas State has a tough out of conference schedule ahead aside from whomever they meet in Maui.

Purdue is coming off of a 52-point win over Grambling State that skews their numbers.
