The Line: LSU Tigers -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers play Monday afternoon at the Sports and Fitness Center.
The Clemson Tigers are 2-2 and could use a big win here to get back on track. On the season, Clemson is averaging 72.2 points on 47.9 percent shooting and is allowing 60 points on 37.6 percent shooting. Landry Nnoko leads Clemson with 13.8 points on 55.9 percent shooting and Damarcus Harrison is averaging 10.8 points and four rebounds. Jaron Blossomgame leads Clemson with 7.5 rebounds and Rod Hall is dishing out four assists. Once again, the Clemson Tigers are a painful offensive unit that is shooting well below 30 percent from downtown. However, Clemson can hang with the best of them on the defensive side of the ball and is even averaging six blocks per game. Clemson doesn’t play pretty basketball but simply grinds games out.
USA TODAY Sports
The LSU Tigers are 3-1 and are looking for another win over a power conference team. On the season, LSU is averaging 73.8 points on 44.5 percent shooting and is allowing 68.5 points on 42.1 percent shooting. Jordan Mickey leads LSU with 17.8 points and 10 rebounds while Jarell Martin is averaging 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds. Keith Hornsby is averaging 15.5 points and Josh Gray leads LSU with 3.8 assists. With Martin and Mickey, LSU has one of the better frontcourts in the entire country and will be a nightmare on the glass for any team they play this season. LSU is averaging 42 rebounds per game and the second chances are really helping the field goal percentage. If the LSU Tigers can be more consistent defensively they’ll have something going.
Clemson is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 vs. Southeastern and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. LSU is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 neutral site games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games.
LSU has a terrific 1-2 punch in the paint and is capable of getting easier buckets while Clemson struggles painfully in the half court. Give me the LSU Tigers in a key victory.
