The Oklahoma State Cowboys won their opening round game at the MGM knocking off Oregon State by 13 points on Monday. OSU shot 48.8 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the three point arc while defensively they allowed Oregon State shoot just 33.3 percent. Le’Bryan Nash led the way for the Cowboys with 19 points and six rebounds. Phil Forte III scored 17 points, Jeffrey Carroll scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Anthony Hickey had 12 points. Oklahoma State once again appears to have a solid team.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane won for the third time in a row this season when they won their opening round game knocking off Auburn by 18 points. Tulsa shot 47.5 percent from the floor and 52.9 percent from beyond the three-point arc while Auburn shot just 31.2 percent and a dreadful 2 of 22 from beyond the three-point arc. James Woodard had 16 points, Rashad Ray had 13 points, and Rashad Smith had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Tulsa doesn’t appear read to back down to anyone.
