The South Alabama Jaguars travel to the Sunshine State to tangle with the #20 Miami Hurricanes.
The South Alabama Jaguars aren't given much of a chance to make noise in the Sun Belt as they struggled a season ago and lost most of their major contributors to graduation. The Jaguars have had scoring issues in dropping consecutive contests. The Jags are coming in off a 66-53 defeat at Detroit as an eleven point hole at the half was too much to overcome. This wasn't a made for TV contest with both teams sinking shots in the 33% range that was actually fairly even in the boxscore except USA gave the ball away 22 times and were outscored 20-12 at the stripe. Taishaun Johnson led the Jaguars attack with 15 points and ten rebounds with Tafari Whittingham adding eleven points and six yanks while Dionte Ferguson chipping in with nine points and another six boards.

The Miami Hurricanes are looking good coming out of the gate as they have built a 6-0 record against both good and bad competition behind solid performances at both ends of the floor. The Hurricanes defeated Charlotte 77-74 with the offense saving the day withe defensive end of the floor having a rare off day. The 49ers put up a fight on 49% shooting but the Canes came through with 51% marksmanship and nailed 14-23 three pointers which put this in the win column. Charlotte had no answer for Sheldon McClellan who poured in 31 points and hauled down eleven rebounds on 11-17 from the floor. Manu Lecomte tossed in another 18 points with Angel Rodriguez adding 14 points and handing out six assists. Miami went with a six man rotation with three players scoring all but 14 points.
USA are 6-20 ATS in their last 26 road games with the under going 6-2 in USA last 8 non-conference games while USA are 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games overall. For Miami-Florida the Hurricanes are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 vs. Sun Belt. My take on thiis game is South Alabama is in a rebuilding mode with much of their production from a season ago graduating. In all honesty the Hurricanes are playing far better then I expected so the question for me is will it continue and will they stay on the gas for 40 minutes.
