The Santa Clara Broncos and Rhode Island Rams battle in the loser's bracket of the Orlando Classic.
The Rhode Island Rams didn't have a good season a year ago but with a 3-0 start to the year the Rams were hoping for a dramatic turnaround. Things went well until a 76-60 defeat to #11 Kansas in round one of the Orlando Classic. The Jayhawks ended this one quickly with an 18 point lead at the break and were never challenged. The big difference here was Kansas the winner of the shooting battle 47%-36.5% which resulted six more field goals. The Rams received a game high 20 points from EC Matthews with five yanks with Gilvydas Biruta tossing in 16 points and seven pulls but the problem was the team nobody else contributed more then six points.

The Santa Clara Broncos headed in to round one of the Orlando Classic in desperate need of some consistent scoring versus Tennessee. Their early scoring scoring struggles continued in a 64-57 defeat with the Volunteers connecting at 45% with the Broncos connecting at 40.5% but allowing 14 offensive rebounds and 14 more looks at the basket which accounted for eight more field goals and was the decisive stat. Brandon Clark led the Santa Clara offense with a game high 21 points followed by 12 points and eleven points from Jared Brownridge and Denzel Washington respectively. Finding production elsewhwere was the issue however.
Rhode Island are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the under is 13-3 in URI last 16 neutral site games and is 7-2 in URI last 9 Fri. games. The issue Santa Clara has had in the early going is consistent production at the offensive end of the floor as points have been difficult to come by. When I say that I mean scoring from somewhere other then their guards. Rhode island has a bit more balance but are not picked to be a factor in the A-10 so I have to see the line because I could go either way here...
