The New Mexico State Aggies and Wyoming Cowboys play Saturday afternoon at the Arena-Auditorium.
The New Mexico State Aggies have won three of their last four games but are still looking for their first true win. On the season, New Mexico State is averaging 75.5 points on 46.4 percent shooting and is allowing 66.2 points on 44.7 percent shooting. Remi Barry leads New Mexico State with 13.2 points and 4.8 rebounds while Daniel Mullings is averaging 12.7 points and 7.3 rebounds. Ian Baker leads New Mexico State with 3.2 assists and DK Eldridge is shooting 37.5 percent from the field. The New Mexico State Aggies have been a great offensive team out of the gate, especially on the boards where they’re averaging 39.2 rebounds per game. However, New Mexico State has to trim the 16 turnovers per game its averaging in order to be a threat in the WAC.
USA TODAY Sports
The Wyoming Cowboys remain unbeaten and continue to pile up home victories. On the season, Wyoming is averaging 66.2 points on 55.4 percent shooting and is allowing 47.2 points on 37.6 percent shooting. Larry Nance Jr. leads Wyoming with 12.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while Josh Adams is shooting 51.7 percent from the field. Charles Hankerson Jr. is producing four assists per game and Riley Grabau is shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. The Wyoming Cowboys are top 10 in the country in field goal percentage and top five in the country in points allowed. Really the only weakness Wyoming has shown so far is the fact it’s averaging just 30.8 rebounds per game. Still, the combination of offense and defense makes Wyoming a dangerous team in the MWC.
The Aggies are 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 vs. Mountain West and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games. The Cowboys are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Athletic and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
I've been high on the Wyoming Cowboys for quite some time and getting the small chalk is a must play. New Mexico State doesn't have the firepower on either side of the ball to hang with the Cowboys.
