The Central Michigan Chippewas put their perfect record on the line when they go on the road to face the Bradley Braves.
The Central Michigan Chippewas struggled to get stops a season ago but they have been well above average at both ends of the floor in building a 5-0 record. Of course the level of competition has been fearsome but for a team not accustomed to winning any victory is a good one. The Chippewas are coming in off of a 79-77 win over visiting Grand Canyon in which the Antelopes burned the nets at 57% but turned the ball over 15 times to give 46% Chips 12 more shots to keep them competitive. Chris Fowler tossed in a contest best 26 points on 10-15 shooting with John Simons netting 21 points and grabbing seven boards while RayShawn Simmons and Luke Meyer tossed in ten and eight points.

When I look over what the Bradley Braves have done in the early going I don't see a ton of scoring taking place and with the loss of some contributors from a season ago that's understandable. The question is can the defense hold up and make this team a winner in the long term because their 2-4 record in the early going says no. The Braves have lost back to back games following a 60-57 defeat at the hands of a rebuilding St Louis squad with 23 second half points negating a seven point lead heading to the locker room. The Billikens sank shots at almost 49% but were outrebounded 34-18 to keep Bradley alive but the Braves returned the favor with 19 turnovers and their 40% shooting wasn't enough. The Braves received 17 points from Warren Jones with Auston Barnes and Josh Cunningham adding 12 and eleven points and 16 boards.
The Chippewas are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. CMU is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games following three or more consecutive home games and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. For Bradley the Braves are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Braves are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games. I am not thrilled with this match up and see no clear cut favorite so why not take the points...
