The East Tennessee State Buccaneers host the Western Carolina Catamounts in SoCon action.
Even though the Western Carolina Catamounts are picked to finish in the bottom half of the SoCon they have loosely competitive. Sometimes the defense has been good and sometimes the scoring has led the way but the obvious goal is to get both on the same page on a regular basis. The Catamounts are hoping to bounce back from a 72-66 loss at Charleston Southern in which they trailed by 23 points at the half with a late rally falling short. There wasn't much of a difference in the boxscore except in the shooting department where the Buccaneers held a 46%-38.7% advantage. Rhett Harrelson led four double digit scorers with 22 points with Mike Brown tossing in 18 points while James Sinclair and Torrion Brummitt added 12 and ten points with Brummitt grabbing eleven rebounds.

The East Tennessee State Buccaneers return to the SoCon after a seven year absense begins with Western Carolina on Wednesday. The Buccaneers have generally been able to score the basketball but in winning four straight ETSU it's been a mix of scoring and defense that has led the way. The team is looking to keep racking up the wins following 63-59 victory at Morehead State as a six point dog. Both teams struggle with their shooting at 36%-37% but the decisive number came at the foul line where East Tennessee State holding a 25-13 advantage. The Buccaneers tossed in a game high 21 points an turned the ball over five times followed by Lester Wilson and his 18 points while Rashawn Rembert chipped in with ten points and five yanks.
The Buccaneers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 vs. Southern, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Wednesday games and are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games. East Tennessee State are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Head to head the Catamounts are 0-3-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings and are 0-2-2 ATS in the last 4 meetings in East Tennessee State. I think the Buccaneers will challenge but in the SoCon but I get the feeling Western Carolina might be better then advertised...
