The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils visit the Oregon State Beavers Wednesday night.
The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils had a reputation as a high scoring team that struggled defensively but this year with only one starter back points have been difficult to come by while opponents have been lighting up the scoreboard. The Delta Devils broke in to the win column with a 66-63 victory over North Carolina A&T Saturday for a 1-6 record. MVSU led by nine at the break before surviving an Aggies comeback with 20 turnovers and poor foul shooting costing NCA&T. Jordan Washington posted a game high 20 points on 6-14 from the floor with Angelo Priar adding 14 points on 4-10 before fouling out after 36 minutes. Eight players saw the floor for at least 14 minutes and each scored.

The Oregon State Beavers have looked competent defensively although the scoring has been a bit up and down. Having said that, a new coach with new faces over five games isn't enough time to draw conclusions. The Beavers have dropped consecutive contests after a 71-69 loss to Auburn as a 2.5 underdog. The defense was not good by either team with the Tigers hitting at 52.5% with the Beavers countering with 50% and 12 more looks at the basket still not enough with Auburn sinking eleven more free throws. Gary Peyton II led the Beavers offense with with 20 points and 12 rebounds on 8-11 with Olaf Schaftenaar tossing in 13. Malcolm Duvivier posted 12 points while Langston Morris-Walker chipped in with ten points and a game six turnovers.
The Delta Devils are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. MVSU are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while going 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Beavers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss. Oregon State are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. This probably isn't a made for TV game but going strictly on potential I'll lay the chalk...
