The Youngstown State Penguins look for a road win when they visit the South Dakota Coyotes Friday.
The Youngstown State Penguins are probably on the outside looking in at the top half of th Horizon because of all the lost firepower. Their philosophy hasn't changed and that is scoring the basketball and hoping for enough stops at the defensive end to be successful. YSU has been successful in wins of four of five after an 89-81 victory at Robert Morris. This game was about even with the Penguins sinking shots at 54% and the Colonials at 50.8% which meant a few more buckets and the win. The tandem of Bobby Hain and Marcus Keene were too much of RMU with 24 points apiece with Hain hauling in 14 rebounds. Shawn Amiker Jr. tossed in 12 points and five yanks while Jalon Plummer and Shaun Stewart combined for 21 points.

The South Dakota Coyotes are not supposed to even smell the upper half of the Summit League but who knows if this team replaces the scoring they lost to graduation. Finding some defense would be even more helpful which they did in winning three straight. South Dakota shoots for win number four in a row following a 68-65 victory versus Cal State Northridge. The Coyotes held a slight edge in marksmanship 44%-42% but the decisive edge was a 9-2 mark on three pointers. South Dakota received 25 points and seven pulls from Casey Kasperbauer including seven bombs. Tyler Larson was next in line with 15 points, seven pulls and five assists before fouling out in 36 minutes while Brandon Bos tossed in 12 points.
The Penguins are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while going 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games. Youngstown State are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Coyotes are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win. I think these teams are closer in ability and not all that different so I'm leaning to the points. The way the Penguins play defense you might no want to watch if you bet them...
