The Memphis Tigers and the Bradley Braves faceoff on Saturday in college basketball action.
The Memphis Tigers have lost three of their five games this season and though their last loss was to Stephen F. Austin, the other losses were to Baylor and Wichita State and there isn’t a lot of shame in that. Memphis is averaging 60.8 points and they are shooting 42 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 63.4 points and their opponents are shooting 38.7 percent. Shaq Goodwin leads the Tigers averaging 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds. Austin Nichols is averaging 10.4 points, Trahson Burrell is averaging 9.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, and Avery Woodson is averaging 8.6 points. Memphis has played the 100th ranked schedule in the country but it doesn’t get much tougher.

The Bradley Braves are 3-4 this season but they are coming off of a win that ended a two game losing skid. Bradley is averaging 62.3 points and they are shooting 39.6 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 61.7 points and their opponents are shooting 41.2 percent. Warren Jones is averaging 15.7 points per game to lead the Braves. Omari Grier is averaging 11.1 points, Auston Barnes is averaging 11.8 points and 5.6 rebounds, and Josh Cunningham is averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds. Bradley faces Kansas State next as the face the Wildcats on Tuesday in Manhattan.
Memphis is 4-0 against the spread following a loss, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Bradley is 3-8-1 against the spread following a win, 7-19-1 against the spread in their last 27 road games, and 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 non-conference games.
Memphis is the better and more talented team but this number looks to have gotten ahead of itself and I am taking Bradley and the points.
