The Kentucky Wildcats remain unbeaten and picked up an impressive win over Texas on Friday. On the season, Kentucky is averaging 77 points on 46.5 percent shooting and is allowing 45.4 points on 28.2 percent shooting. Dakari Johnson leads Kentucky with 10.4 points and seven rebounds while Willie Cauley-Stein is averaging 10.3 points and 6.8 rebounds. Andrew Harrison is averaging 3.5 assists and Aaron Harrison is shooting 33.8 percent from the field. The Kentucky Wildcats are first in the country in total defense, allowing teams to shoot 25.4 percent from deep, forcing 18.1 turnovers and allowing no more than 65 points. Of course, Kentucky’s size and length is the teams biggest strength, as the Wildcats are averaging 42.4 rebounds and 8.6 blocks.
The Colonels are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wildcats are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
I like Eastern Kentucky even dating back to last season. The Colonels play smart basketball at both ends of the court. However, the Kentucky Wildcats are too deep of a team and I expect them to get off to a better start in the first half. Give me Kentucky in a blowout.
