Dahlberg Arena and the Montana Grizzlies play host to the surging Davidson Wildcats in Wednesday action.
The Davidson Wildcats are hoping their first season in the Atlantic Ten is as successful as their days in the SoCon. So far, so good as the Wildcats have averaged 87 points in building a 6-1 record with the lone defeat coming at the hands of North Carolina. Davidson ripped off win number four in a row with a 90-59 rout of visiting Stetson on Saturday. The Hatters trailed by 24 at the half and never recovered with 32% shooting to lean on. On the flip side the Wildcats hit at 45% from the field including a red hot 16-34 mark on threes. Tyler Kalinoski poured in a game high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds with Oscar Michelsen scoring 16 with Brian Sullivan adding 14 points and handing out eight assists.

The Montana Grizzlies are supposed to be on the outside looking in at the Big Sky but in a way this conference reminds me of the Ivy League because you never know what will happen. The Grizzlies had dropped consecutive contests but got back on the winning track with a 69-57 victory versus visiting North Dakota State as a six point favorite. The Bison fell behind by 14 points after 20 minutes and their 40% from the field wasn't good enough to mount a comeback. The Grizzlies 47% shooting was decisive along with a 9-20 performance from down town. Jordan Gregory led a trio of double digit scorers with 20 points and five yanks on 8-12 while Martin Breunig was next in line with 18 points and seven boards. Brandon Gfeller and Jermaine Edmunds Jr. rounded out the top producers with ten and eight points.
The Wildcats are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games while going 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Davidson are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games. Montana are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Neither team is predicted to do much in the respective conferences but I think Davidson has shown a little more although this seems like a trap...
