The Michigan Wolverines and Arizona Wildcats play a big Saturday matchup at the McKale Center.
The Michigan Wolverines have lost three of their last five games, including back-to-back games to below-average teams. On the season, Michigan is averaging 70.7 points on 44.4 percent shooting and is allowing 61.1 points on 43.9 percent shooting. Caris LeVert leads Michigan with 17.7 points and 4.1 assists while Zak Irvin is averaging 15.4 points and 3.2 rebounds. Derrick Walton Jr. is the third UM player to average double-digit points and Spike Albrecht is averaging 3.9 assists. The Michigan Wolverines are a team that relies heavily on the three-ball but is just 15-45 in their last two games. Michigan is also coming off a game where it shot just 32.6 percent from the field against Eastern Michigan. This game should give us a better idea of what Michigan really is this season.

The Arizona Wildcats have yet to lose and would love another key win on their resume. On the season, Arizona is averaging 76 points on 49.8 percent shooting and is allowing 60.1 points on 39.7 percent shooting. Stanley Johnson leads Arizona with 13.8 points and 6.4 rebounds while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds. Brandon Ashley is the third Arizona player to average double-digit points and T.J. McConnell is averaging 5.6 assists. The Arizona Wildcats are once again that elite defensive team that’s allowed no more than 68 points this season and is averaging close to nine steals. Offensively, Arizona is shooting 36.8 percent from deep and grabbing 35.6 rebounds overall. The Wildcats have six players averaging at least eight points.
The Wolverines are 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 games following a ATS loss and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big Ten.
Yes, I know Michigan has expericned two horrible losses. But are we really going to give up on the Wolverines already and say this team can't compete with the best? I'm not. To me, this line is an overreaction by oddmakers. Michigan can still hang with the big boys and will be up for this game given the circumstances. I also haven’t been extremely impressed with Arizona, which is why I’m taking the points here.
