The Kentucky Wildcats are 9-0 this season and they are the top ranked team in the nation and while many expect fireworks every time UK steps onto the court it has really been their defense that gets it done. Kentucky is averaging 75.4 points per game and they shoot 46.6 percent from the floor while defensively they allow 45.8 points per game and their opponents shoot 28.7 percent with both rank number one in the nation. UNC is averaging 81.4 points and they are shooting 44.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.6 points and their opponnents are shooting 33.5 percent that ranks fourth in the nation. North Carolina has been inconsistent thus far.
Kentucky is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 6-18-1 against the spread against the ACC, and 6-21 against the spread after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. North Carolina is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, 3-7 against the spread following a win, and 17-3-1 against the spread against the SEC. North Carolina is 9-1-1 against the spread in their last 11 games against Kentucky.
This is a lot of points and while Kentucky has a ton more talent than anyone in the nation, UNC has enough to keep this competitive enough to cover this monster number.
