The Morehead State Eagles and Ohio State Buckeyes play Saturday at the Value City Arena.
The Morehead State Eagles are on a three-game losing streak and will play their sixth true road game. On the season, Morehead State is averaging 69 points on 41.5 percent shooting and is allowing 62.6 points on 40.7 percent shooting. Angelo Warner leads the Eagles with 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds while Brent Arrington is averaging 9.8 points and 2.7 rebounds. Kareem Storey is averaging 5.4 assists per game and Corban Collins is shooting 37 percent from the field. The Morehead State Eagles are a deep offensive team that has eight players averaging at least five points per game, and they’re shooting 35.5 percent from deep as a team. The issue with Morehead State is that it doesn’t have multiple go-to scorers, which is why the Eagles have topped 70 points just three times this season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are off to a quick 7-1 start and getting ready for the North Carolina game in a week. On the season, Ohio State is averaging 82.2 points on 53.2 percent shooting and is allowing 55.4 points on 35.9 percent shooting. D'Angelo Russell leads OSU with 18 points and 5.3 assists while Marc Loving is averaging 11.5 points on 57.4 percent shooting. Sam Thompson is grabbing 4.8 rebounds per game and Shannon Scott is averaging eight assists. The Ohio State Buckeyes have all of a sudden become a dangerous offensive team that’s shooting 68.1 percent from the free throw line and 42.4 percent from three. Ohio State is still playing solid defense as well, allowing no more than 64 points in its first eight games.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Buckeyes are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games and 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
While Ohio State is clearly the better team of the two, the Buckeyes have been brutal against the number dating back to last season. It's hard to back OSU and the heavy chalk after seeing the trends. I'll take my chances with Morehead State and the points.
